A view of the high altar inside Assumption.

More than 150 years ago, German immigrants laid the cornerstone of the first church that would comfort and give a sense of belonging to people who had left all things familiar to build better lives for themselves and their families.

Founded in 1856, the Church of the Assumption welcomed those recent German immigrants and hundreds more like them.

Today we stand in their places in the pews, the heirs of their investment in their community, their commitment to their faith and their witness to serving all as we would serve Christ himself.

We welcome everyone – parishioners, visitors, those who come once and never return, and those who stop in occasionally.

We invite you to come to the Assumption, spend time with us in prayer, join us for coffee and conversation, get to know one another and give thanks to God our Creator.
